Inspired by Tchaikovsky's iconic Nutcracker ballet, this limited-edition collection of turned wooden ornaments is hand painted with designs inspired by specific movements of the musical score. The series, created in collaboration with an experienced woodworker, showcases a variety of ornament styles, species of wood, and designs.
Each ornament is handcrafted from sustainably sourced wood, painted, and sealed with a satin finish for a warm glow.
XII. Divertissement, Dance of the Mirlitons
This movement in all of its components is a celebration of sweets from around the world--a mirliton is a small French cake made with marzipan. Also, the name of a Danish reed pipe, the inspiration for this ornament came from whimsical Danish wildflower embroidery designs.
