Wooden Ornament | No. 17
Inspired by Tchaikovsky's iconic Nutcracker ballet, this limited-edition collection of turned wooden ornaments is hand painted with designs inspired by specific movements of the musical score. The series, created in collaboration with an experienced woodworker, showcases a variety of ornament styles, species of wood, and designs.
Each ornament is handcrafted from sustainably sourced wood, painted, and sealed with a satin finish for a warm glow.
Movement I. The Christmas Tree
Every branch on "the great fir-tree" described in E.T.A. Hoffman's Nutcracker and the Mouse King, is laden with silver and gold apples, flowers, "almonds, and brightly colored sugar-plums." The dense design of fruits and flowers on this ornament is intermingled with evergreen branches to capture the splendor of that grand tree.
Design colors: green, red, blue, white, yellow
Approximate size: 1.5" x 3"
The ornament hangs from a 3" gold metallic cord and is packaged in a velvet drawstring bag for convenient storage.
